Gay Marriage: why the fuck do you care?

People love to tell other people what to do, it's natural. The current national hoo-rah surrounding gay marriage is a current example. Why do adults give a rat's ass what other adults do?

Most of the objections I've seen are based in religion, which should have absolute jack shit to do with our laws. I'm going to list and refute some reasoning behind the ANTIs, then cut to the core of the matter.

Refutation of Idiocy

Marriage is for 1 man, 1 woman. Hardly a persuasive argument, this is just a statement of the status quo.

Gay people are immoral. Religious claptrap, morality is totally subjective.

Children need both mother and father. In 1998, 34% of american children were being raised in single parent homes. Many others are being raised in traditional families where one parent is a sexual predator. Love, commitment, and structure are important to children, not the sex of their caregivers.

NOM's tagline "Gays and Lesbians have a right to live as they choose,
they don’t have the right to redefine marriage for all of us"
. But we totally get to define it for them! In actuality, the group gets to define marriage for the group. People who like to make out with the same sex should be able to form a legal bond, regardless of what the fuck you call it.

Cutting to the Core.

What it all boils down to in the end, is that people feel that it's okay to discriminate against gay people. Homosexuals can get fired from their jobs simply for being homosexual. As long as it is seen as a choice, there will be hatred. There HAS to be public knowledge of biologic origins for acceptance With such a large percentage of our population being bible-thumping believers of intelligent design, chances of findings being accepted immediately are slim.
Immediate acceptance aside, once the tide has past, within a generation or so it'll all be the usual, I mean racial segregation was the norm like 40 years ago.
